Child Safety Standards

Tzemach Tzedek Community Centre is committed to the safety, participation and empowerment of all children, and to engender an environment where children are safe and happy, and staff members and volunteers are valued and respected.

We have zero tolerance of child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently with our robust policies and procedures. We have legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when we are worried about a child's safety, which we follow rigorously.

Tzemach Tzedek has robust practices to reduce the risk of child abuse by new and existing board members, staff, and volunteers.

Tzemach Tzedek is committed to training and educating our board members, staff, and volunteers on child abuse risks.

We are committed to the safety of children of all backgrounds and abilities, and to catering for children who have specific requirements.

We have specific policies and procedures in place that support our board members, staff, and volunteers to achieve these commitments.

It is also the responsibility of parents and guardians to care for their children and other children put into their care on premises and make sure they're safe.

Child safety is everyone's responsibility. If you see something, you should say something. Call police if you believe a child is at risk of abuse.

It is important that everyone feel confident to report anything of concern to our management. Our Internal Reporting Officers are the Tzemach Tzedek Board Members.
